Vishy will just not go away–he bested Sergey Karjakin in Round 11 today in an anti-Berlin Ruy Lopez, slowly outplaying the former tournament leader until forcing resignation. Anand is now level with Caruana at 6.5/11, but Caruana owns a slim tiebreak edge.

I have to admit that I am not thrilled about the possibility of a third Anand-Carlsen match, not because I dislike Vishy, but simply because it doesn’t seem like he has a realistic chance against him. I’m looking for some new blood and hoping that Caruana could make the match more interesting.
We’ll have to wait and see though. Anand has had a strong tournament and could easily take it if he secures another win. It’s looking like this year’s Candidates Tournament will come down to the final round.
