Okay well you can’t mate your opponent twice in one game unfortunately. Sometimes you’d like to be able to do that, especially if your opponent is a real punk haha. But I only mention the two mates here because two quite rare mating motifs were present in this one game. I didn’t see the first one (Anastasia’s Mate) but was able to get the second one (Bishop + Knight Mate).
I’ve easily played over 15 thousand live chess games over the past few years, and only once has the B+N mate come up. I was on the defending side, and my opponent either didn’t know how to do it, didn’t have enough time, or both because he flagged and I saved the draw. In this game though, I was on the attacking side. This was a 15|10 game on Chess.com. I had the White pieces and played a Smith-Morra Gambit against my opponent’s Sicilian Defense.
