Today I entered a 1|0 bullet tournament on Chess.com. I am terrible at 2|1 and even worse at 1|0, so I’m not sure what I was thinking. Actually, I don’t even know if I had played more than five 1|0 games in my life prior to entering this tourney, so that was even dumber. I should have at least tried to play a few days first.
Well, as it turns out, my first game in the tourney was against a national master! Talk about jumping into the fire! This was the first master I have ever played online.
I kept a pretty decent position for most of the game. I managed to play the game without blundering (although it was only 23 moves, so maybe that’s not such a big deal). But considering that this was 1|0 and that my competition was a chessmaster, I feel pretty good about it. Here is a short video of the game:
