We get two maneuvering games here. Not my strong suit usually. Let’s see how I do!
Both kings are in the open. White has pressure on g7 and a good presence in the center. Black has a winning advantage with material, pawn structure, and a passed pawn. It looks like maybe White will be able to cause a bit of trouble, but Black has a move that ends the game immediately. The puzzle is shown in the image below, and the solution is shown in the video below that.
This was a little miniature. My opponent moves the same Knight several times. I didn’t find the best continuation, but my opponent was kind enough to sack his King anyway. Sometimes you see a similar checkmate (without the Knight in front of the King) in Scotch games if White plays a known weak continuation. Perhaps I’ll post that some other day.
