I just played a couple of anonymous games on LiChess. I like doing that sometimes for warm-up games, because I usually lose my warm-up games anyway, so it doesn’t affect my rating. When you play against other anonymous players, you never know what strength of player you are playing against.
In a series of two games just now, I guess I got paired with someone who was just starting out and was experimenting with his Queen a bit (okay, a lot!).
I just figured I’d post this video because, in my few years of playing chess (and probably over 20,000 games), I don’t think I’ve every quite seen an example this extreme with Queen moves. In the final position of this game, I have
- developed all my minor pieces
- castled my King
- connected Rooks
- established a pawn presence in the center and
- even developed a Rook.
My opponent used that same time to make nine consecutive Queen moves before resigning!
